Bose – Visual Brand Language

In 2015-2016 Essential worked with the design team at Bose to build a Visual Brand Language to unify the product vision across all consumer categories. The output of this effort was a document that captured an Orientation intended for onboarding designers, Principles guiding the Design Language, and Practices illustrating how the elements could be applied in different product categories.

Kurzweil

Working closely with the client, pro users, and the manufacturer, we developed an intuitive interface that accommodated legacy professional users and simplified the complex system for new users. A major challenge was updating and integrating the highly complex hard and soft interfaces in a configuration that new users would understand.

Role: Design Lead for control panel development. Support designer of chassis ID.

Project duration: 12.2010 – 03.2011 @ Essential
Project status: Evidence of our design influence is seen on many released products, but the full embodiment of the design vision has not been produced due to the niche market for a full-featured product.
