The team at Essential was engaged by Kopin as the design and development partner for the Solos system. Working closely with the optical engineers at Kopin, the design and engineering teams at Essential evolved an existing concept platform to target the functional and stylistic demands of pro cyclists. A major challenge was defining the adjustable range of the optic module in order to accommodate a wide range of inter-pupillary distances. During development we leveraged the feedback of the U.S. Olympic cycling team to create a compelling product offering.
